Tilesafe - Checking your installation

Once the Tilesafe is fully installed and visually checked, prior to fixing any tiles, it is recommended that you flood-test your installation. Once your level-entry showering system is installed and waterproofed with Tilesafe and the release paper is still in place – you can commission your shower, check your drainage and ensure that the waterproof membrane is installed correctly.

Bear in mind that the full flowrate will not be achieved until your tiles are installed as recommended.

Completely dry the area after testing and remove the release paper as you begin to tile – using a rapid-set, flexible, waterproof adhesive.

Silicone sealant will react with Tilesafe

If silicone sealant is to be used, for example on bath surrounds, ensure it does not come into direct contact with the Tilesafe. It should have at lease 2 barriers between the silicone and Tilesafe.

Self-Levelling Compound

Self-levelling compound can be used on top of Tilesafe – having removed the release paper – prior to tiling. This is recommended if mosaics are being used.
